Samsung Research Philippines
Research Engineer (Jan 2020 - Present)
I’m currently a research engineer under the Algorithms and Research Lab of Samsung Research Philippines focusing on low-resource techniques for natural language processing tasks.
DLSU Center for Language Technologies
Research Consultant (Jan 2020 - Present)
I serve as a research consultant for DLSU’s language technologies lab where I work closely with research groups focusing on deep learning-based theses. Currently, I’m working on low-resource dialogue generation systems, as well as automatic corpus creation methods for natural language understanding tasks.
Research Assistant (Aug 2019 - Dec 2020)
I worked at DLSU’s language technologies lab directly under Dr. Charibeth Cheng where I led, managed, and mentored undergraduate research groups pursuing deep learning-based NLP theses. I have previously worked on question generation (2020) and fake news detection (2019) in this leadership capacity, with both theses winning the department’s most outstanding thesis award for their respective years.

DLSU Machine Learning Group
Founder and Lead Mentor (Aug 2018 - Present)
I’m the Founder and Lead Mentor of DLSU’s first machine learning research and development group composed mainly of student mentors and enthusiasts in 2018. As the Lead Mentor, I run weekly learning sessions for deep learning-based approaches for solving AI tasks (mainly in NLP, focusing on hard tasks such as QA and Translation). I also host a biweekly brownbag through the group where we share and discuss state-of-the-art research in the field.

SME for Machine Learning (Jun 2017 - Sep 2019)
I was affiliated with DLSU’s complex systems and HCI lab as its Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Machine Learning and Data Science where I taught and mentored research groups under the lab with topics relating to my specialization. I was also involved in a research project under the lab developing sensor based musical instruments, particularly an air guitar using electromyogprahy-based sensors, where we had published a paper in 2018.
